Bacchus

BacchusThe company Bacchus Vins & Champagnes a.s. has been operating on the Czech market since 1994 and thus belongs among importers of wine and refined spirits with the longest tradition on the Czech market. They represent many renowned producers of wine and spirits and the company representatives know each of their suppliers personally.

Among others, these include the world-renowned brands such as:

Barron Philippe de Rothschild
Cono Sur
De Bortolif
Champage Taittinger
Domaine Tariquet

Louis Latour

They belong among the most respected wineries in Burgundy and produce wine also from grapes from other vineyards than their own. Their products from Ardeche have gradually developed a reputation of high-quality wine. Nowadays the Louis Latour company is run by the 10th generation of Latours and today the company is the oldest family winegrowing enterprise in Burgundy.

All grapes from their own vineyards are processed in the beautiful Corton Grancey winery in Aloxe-Corton. Their building was the first in France built especially for wine fermentation and is today the oldest functioning building of its kind. Its unique system of lifts and rails enables to carry out the whole vinification process with the help of gravity. This eliminates the risk of oxidation and needlessly pumping grape juice over.

The reputation of the excellent Burgundy wine depends largely on the quality of the barrels in which this wine spends the first twelve months of its maturation. The Latour family is maintaining this tradition by using techniques that have changed only little since the Middle Ages. Today they produce over 2000 barrels, half of which they supply to the best wineries in the world.

Champagne TAITTINGER

The most beautiful vineyards in Champagne originally belonged to Benedictine monasteries whose monks were able wine makers. It was one of them who at the end of the 17th century uncovered the secret of fermented wine which entered history as champagne.
Around 1932 Pierre-Charles Taittinger and his cousins revived the local champagne business. He decided that Chardonnay will be the main variety for his champagne which can fulfil the requirements of modern consumers for light, fine and elegant wine; and is furthermore supplemented by the Pinot Noir and Pinot Méunier varieties. The best member of the Taittinger company, the Blanc de Blanc champagne, which is made exclusively from Chardonnay and carries the name Comtes de Champagne, belongs to the high society of the best wine from around the world.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild
The Baron Philippe de Rothschild company ranks among wine-making elite. Mayer Amschel Rothschild, a trader from Frankfurt, has laid the foundations of the vast family company already at the end of the 18th century. He was far-sighted enough to send his four sons to trade in the largest European cities – Vienna, London, Naples and Paris. In 1853 Baron Nathaniel purchased a domain in Pauillac which lies in the heart of the Médoc wine-growing region, and gave it a name which would go down in wine-making history – Chateau Mounton Rothschild. He introduced a number of innovations which influenced wine growing and which were later copied by his competitors, such as bottling straight in the domain. He launched a new brand Mouton Cadet which symbolically represented himself (cadet = the youngest, Philippe was the youngest member of the family). He started a tradition which survived to this day: to ask famous contemporary painters to create the labels of the Mouton Rothschild wines. He also extended the company by adding another domain Chateau Clerc Milon. And in collaboration with one of the biggest Californian wine makers, Robert Mondavi, he created the unique Opus One brand.

Cono Sur
The young Chilean brand was founded in 1993 with the vision of producing premium, expressive and innovative wines conveying the spirit of the New World. Most of the company's vineyards, like the winery itself, lies 150 km south of Santiago near the town of Chimbarongo, right in the heart of the renowned Colchgua Valley. In its short history Cono Sur has made itself visible not only with its top-quality wine but it also became the first Chilean winery to grow the Viognier variety. They are one of the largest producers of Pinot Noir in the world.
